(This is my research I made in „in vitro meat“ and „animal torture“. I do not want to turn anyone to be vegetarian/vegan/v-whatever, cause I do not think it has a huge sence, killing plant for a food is just lower level of the same behavior as killing animal for a food. What matters is „“appreciation““ of everything u have, everything you have got and everything what have died for you.

Pain in humans is „an unpleasant sensory and emotional experience associated with actual or potential tissue damage, or described in terms of such damage.“ (International Association for the Study of Pain)

Therefore, this concept is usually excluded in definitions of pain in animals.

…such as that provided by Zimmerman: „an aversive sensory experience caused by actual or potential injury that elicits protective motor and vegetative reactions, results in learned avoidance and may modify species-specific behaviour, including social behaviour.“

The idea that animals might not experience pain or suffering as humans do traces back at least to the 17th-century French philosopher, René Descartes, who argued that animals lack consciousness.

1. Meat is the flesh of animals used as food.

4. There is ongoing research into producing meat in vitro, that is, outside of animals.

In 1995 research into in vitro meat was approved by U.S. Food and Drug Administration (research originally arose out of experiments conducted by NASA, attempting to find improved forms of long-term food for astronauts in space. )

In 2000 the NSR/Touro Applied BioScience Research Consortium produced the first edible form of in vitro meat (goldfish cells grown to resemble fish fillets).

Since 2001 NASA has been conducting experiments producing in vitro meat from turkey cells.

In 2008, PETA offered a $1 million prize to the first company that brings lab-grown chicken meat to consumers.

5. As of 2012, 30 laboratories from around the world have announced they’re working on in vitro meat research.

No living organism ‚wants‘ to die for another organism’s sustenance.
The golden rule states that „one should treat others as one would like others to treat oneself“.

In vitro meat

Some people follow vegetarian or vegan diets not because of moral concerns involving the production of meat and other animal products in general, but the treatment involving the raising and slaughter of animals

Animals are usually slaughtered by being first stunned and then exsanguinated (bled out). Death results from the one or the other procedure, depending on the methods employed. Stunning can be effected through asphyxiating the animals with carbon dioxide, shooting them with a gun or a captive bolt pistol, or shocking them with electric current. In most forms of ritual slaughter, stunning is not allowed.

A study by researchers at Oxford and the University of Amsterdam found that in vitro meat was „potentially … much more efficient and environmentally-friendly“, generating only 4% greenhouse gas emissions, reducing the energy needs of meat generation by up to 45%, and requiring only 2% of the land that the global meat/livestock industry does.

Animal welfare groups are generally in favor of the production of in vitro meat because it does not have a nervous system and therefore cannot feel pain

The production of in vitro meat is currently very expensive—about US$1 million for a piece of beef weighing 250 grams (0.55 lb) —and it would take considerable investment to switch to large scale production. However, the In Vitro Meat Consortium has estimated that with improvements to current technology there could be considerable reductions in the cost of in vitro meat. They estimate that it could be produced for 3500€/tonne (US$5037/tonne), which is about twice the cost of unsubsidized conventional European chicken production.

Cruelty to animals, also called animal abuse or animal neglect, is the infliction of suffering or harm upon non-human animals, for purposes other than self-defense.
It usually encompasses inflicting harm for personal amusement or to fulfill zoosadistic impulses.

During childhood, serial killers could not retaliate towards those who caused them humiliation, so they chose animals because they [animals] were viewed as weak and vulnerable.
